CEO David James

David James is an experienced Chief Executive Officer, Risk Management Professional and Business Consultant, having developed his expertise as a Commercial Banker with over 20 years banking experience in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. David has previously held the position of Risk Management Director at Barclays Bank Kenya and later as Chief Credit Officer with the East African Development Bank based in Uganda before moving to Tanzania in 2007 when he managed the setting up of a green-field regulated microfinance bank as the CEO of AccessBank Tanzania Ltd. For the past eighteen months he was the CEO of The First MicroFinance Institution in Syria.

David is very excited to return to Kenya and to have the opportunity of sharing in the further expansion and development of Musoni. He shares the Musoni vision and intends to build on the strong foundation that the shareholders and Staff have already created. Staying ahead of the technology curve with innovative products and services will be of the utmost importance so that our clients fully benefit from the efficiencies and cost effectiveness that the new technologies can offer.

CFO James Owino

James Owino is a Certified Public Accountant (Kenya) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Financial Management. He has a vast experience spanning 8 years in Accounting, Finance and Administration. He previously worked for Deloitte Consulting Ltd where he handled various projects in accounting, administration, consultancy and financial management spanning different industries for both large and small companies.

COO Norbert Benker

Norbert Benker has worked on Microfinance projects in more than 10 African countries. He has trained loan officers, senior managers, board members and government officials. In Uganda, Norbert was a long-term consultant and interim Operations Manager for a local Microfinance institution. Before joining Musoni, he worked for Micro Service Consult, IPC/ProCredit and Deutsche Bank. Norbert holds a Master degree in economics and speaks five languages.

 

Internal Auditor Anne Mwasi

Anne Mwasi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi. She is a Global member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and an Associate Member of Association of certified Fraud Examiners. She has over 10 years’ experience in both external and internal auditing. She previously worked for Jamiibora Microfinance as Head of Finance and later as Head of internal Audit department.
